PS5 that blinks then shuts down: power supply or logic board?
The console tries to boot, the fan spins for a second, and everything stops. Two possible culprits, two very different repairs.
A PS5 that won't turn on at all, or that starts then cuts out within a second, has either a power-supply problem or a logic-board problem. The two look alike from the outside; they look nothing alike on the bench.
The power supply
The internal power supply (ADP-400 and later) converts 230 V into 12 V for the logic board. After a thunderstorm, a worn power strip or simply years of service, it may no longer deliver the voltage or may cut out under load. We test it outside the console: if the voltage collapses, we replace it. A quick repair, at the price shown per model.
The logic board
If the power supply is fine, we look on the board: a short on a power rail, a failed component around the main chip, or a system-controller chip. That is microscope work, with schematics. The price is fixed (149 €) and announced after diagnosis, before we start; if the board can't be repaired, the diagnosis isn't charged.
Before you come
Try another socket and another mains cable, unplug everything else (USB, external drive). If the light blinks orange in a loop or the console restarts endlessly, it is sometimes software: a system reinstall, keeping your games when possible, sorts it out.
