Samsung Galaxy: why we only fit genuine screens
We are often asked for “a cheaper screen” for a Galaxy S. Here is why we refuse, and why it is in your interest.
Samsung makes its own AMOLED panels, and they are the best on the market. Compatible screens for Galaxy are made by third parties without access to that technology: either lower-grade OLED panels, or adapted LCDs.
What goes wrong with compatibles
- The under-display fingerprint reader stops working or works badly: the ultrasonic or optical sensor needs the original panel.
- Colours are dull, brightness in full sun is low, contrast drops.
- Thickness: the panel stands proud, the bezel is wider, water resistance is lost.
- Lifespan: burn-in and lines after a few months.
The Samsung service pack
It is the genuine screen, supplied new by Samsung with the frame already assembled. We transfer the logic board, battery and modules into that new frame: the phone comes out as if from the factory, fingerprint included, and water resistance is restored with the original seals.
The price
Higher than a compatible, true, but fixed and shown per model: Galaxy S22 to S25, A and Z series. On a recent Galaxy A it stays very reasonable; on an S Ultra it beats buying new by a wide margin. Twelve-month warranty, fitted the same day by appointment.
