iPhone screen, compatible or original: how to choose without regret
Two new screens, two very different prices, the same warranty. The right choice depends on the model and what you do with your phone.
When we replace an iPhone screen we offer two grades. Here is what lies behind each, without sales jargon.
The premium compatible screen
A new screen, made by an independent manufacturer. On OLED models (iPhone X and later) we choose OLED panels, not disguised LCDs with a thicker bezel and dull colours. True Tone is kept thanks to the sensor transfer, brightness is close to original, and touch is accurate. It is what most of our customers choose, for a much lower price.
The original screen
The Apple part, with its exact performance: maximum brightness, colour rendering, 120 Hz smoothness on the Pros. It costs more, and on some models Apple pairs it to the phone in software, which can leave an “unknown part” message in the settings even with a genuine part from another iPhone.
When it matters
For an iPhone Pro used for photo or video, the original screen is worth it. For a standard iPhone 11, 12, 13 or 14, premium compatible gives a phone you can't tell apart in use. In both cases: twelve-month warranty, fitted within the hour by appointment, and a new seal to keep water resistance.
